Meet Dr. Reinhard Tatschl, Principal Research and Technology Manager at the business unit Advanced Simulation Technologies of AVL. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Graz University of Technology and has dedicated expertise in modeling and simulation of multi-physics processes related to automotive powertrain systems and beyond. Besides, he has broad experience in setting up and coordinating collaborative research projects on national and EU level. Within the MEAsureD project he is coordinating AVL’s component and system simulation tasks, communication and dissemination activities including the related management aspects.
Introducing Dr. Peter Urthaler, Senior Development Engineer Software at the Advanced Simulation Technologies business unit of AVL. He earned his PhD in Mathematics from Graz University of Technology, with a specialization in the numerics of partial differential equations. Over the past years, he has honed his expertise in modeling fuel and electrolyzer cells. Within the MEAsureD project, he plays a pivotal role in expanding existing performance and degradation models within AVL’s simulation framework.
Meet Johann Bachler, R&D Program Manager in the business unit Engineering and Technology Powertrain Systems, in charge of the topic ‘Life Cycle Engineering’. He holds a diploma in mechanical engineering and economics, and has long experience in Diesel Calibration and Development in the automotive industry. Since 8 years he and his team are involved in setting up, coordinating and cooperating on sustainability topics in collaborative, national and European research projects. Within MEAsureD project he and his team will perform an LCA and an analysis of the manufacturing cost of the FC stack, hence contribute to the improvement of sustainability and circularity of the investigated system.
Introducing Dr. Ivo Prah, Skill Team Leader of Thermodynamics and Vehicle Simulation Analysis at the business unit Advanced Simulation Technologies in Slovenia.
